All About U Apprenticeships is a California state-approved barbering and cosmetology program, operating as a subsidiary of Gran Phinale Barbering & Cosmetology Apprenticeship Academy. Created for individuals ready to build a real future in the beauty industry, the program offers an alternative to traditional beauty school by allowing students to train in licensed salons and barbershops while earning the 3,200 hours required for state licensure. The journey begins with a 39-hour state-required pre-apprenticeship course, followed by a structured two-year apprenticeship that blends hands-on experience with classroom instruction under approved professionals. Most students complete the program within 18–24 months and move forward to take the California State Board Exam to receive their professional license.

Program Breakdown

Step 1

Before enrolling in our program, an apprentice must find an approved facility to work in.

Step 2

Registration and payment of Pre-Apprentice fee are as follow, $2,499.00 paid upon enrollment. If a payment plan is needed, please contact the office at the above information.

Step 3

over the next 60 days, you will complete 39 hours of online training in these areas:
Laws and Regulations of the
Board
• Health and Safety
• Basic Patron Protection
• Sanitation and Disinfection
Procedures

Step 4

After successful completion of the Pre-Apprentice class, students will be provided with an Application for Licensure and a
Certificate of Completion of
Pre-Apprentice Training

Step 5

The Apprenticeship
Training Program is a two-year, combination online classroom
and on-the-job training program with All About U and Gran Phinal'e Apprenticeship
Academy.
