All About U: Online Barbering Apprenticeship Program

 Welcome to the All About U Barbering Apprenticeship Program, a government-recognized program based in California, designed for those pursuing a career in barbering. As a subsidiary of Gran Phinale Barbering & Cosmetology Apprenticeship Academy, we offer a unique blend of online coursework and hands-on, on-the-job training (OJT) to ensure you receive a comprehensive learning experience.

Program Overview
Our program is entirely online, providing you with the flexibility to study from anywhere in California. The combination of online learning and practical experience at approved barbering facilities sets our program apart, making it an ideal choice for aspiring barbers.

Steps to Success
The two-year apprenticeship program comprises five essential steps:

Step 1: Secure an Approved Facility
To join the program, you must first secure a position at a California state-approved barbering facility. This ensures that you gain practical, hands-on experience under the supervision of experienced barbers.

Step 2: Registration and Pre-Apprentice Fee
To enroll in the program, you must pay a Pre-Apprentice fee of $2,499.00. If you need a payment plan, please contact our office for assistance. This fee covers the administrative costs associated with the pre-apprenticeship training and contributes to the overall costs during your apprenticeship.

Step 3: Online Pre-Apprenticeship Training
Before starting your apprenticeship, you must complete a 39-hour online Pre-Apprenticeship Training Class. This class covers critical topics, including:

- California State Laws and Regulations for Barbering
- Health and Safety Standards
- Basic Patron Protection
- Sanitation and Disinfection Procedures

The online format allows you to complete the class at your convenience, from anywhere in California. Attendance and completion of assignments are mandatory to proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Obtain Your Apprentice License
After completing the Pre-Apprenticeship Training, you'll receive a Certificate of Completion and an Application for Licensure. Submit these, along with a $25.00 money order, to the California State Board to obtain your Apprentice License. The typical waiting period is 4-6 weeks. You cannot perform services for the general public until you have your Apprentice License.

Step 5: Two-Year Apprenticeship Program
With your Apprentice License, you can begin the two-year Apprenticeship Program, which includes both online coursework and on-the-job training. You'll need to complete 3,200 hours of OJT at a state-approved facility and attend monthly online classes provided by Gran Phinale Barbering & Cosmetology Apprenticeship Academy. Regular submission of timesheets is required to track your progress.

- Textbooks: All apprentices must purchase the required textbooks, including Milady's Standard Textbook of Professional Barber Styling.
- Online Coursework: The online format allows you to learn at your own pace and fit coursework around your schedule.
